Snickerdoodle is three today. I think he was in Ginger’s last litter. A friend sent me a note saying that it was nice to see the “Wonder Dog.” Snicker has matured as a service dog but still can have his goofy moments. Loves to run and chase the ball and likes children. Tom’s 6 year old granddaughter from Berlin said the best thing about her trip was swimming in the river and Snicker. Here are a couple of photos - Snicker with his new teddy bear (he has quite the zoo collection and can bring them all by name).

Snickerdoodle has earned these proud good looks with his first grooming. As he approaches the five month mark, he finds himself reliably house-trained and a dog with many good skills including heeling while walking. He knows all his basic commands in both English and American Sign Language, he is alerting to sounds and his behavior is good enough to regularly go to the gym and to restaurants where he simply naps on the floor. He is one terrific & friendly dog! You had better believe that we adore this pup - give Mommy Ginger an extra hug from us.

"He’s gotten so big and is such a wonderful dog! He’s so funny and so loving. He is by our sides all the time, loves to play fetch, loves to cuddle, and loves to take walks. He has the utmost respect for the cats who are the alphas even though he’s four times their size! We have loved every minute with him! He is SO smart & knows “sit,” “down,” and “shake” too! He LOVES people & when we walk him, people literally slow down in their cars to look at him. He’s SO beautiful!! And best of all—it looks like he’ll be a hugger like his dad Leader.

I wanted to share a video of one of your puppies from Quin and Justin. The kids love her wherever she goes. This was last thanksgiving with my family in Austin. Also included a pict of my nephews and grand daughter. She’s 2 years old now and perfect with kids and as you can see in the video, loves to play soccer!

Trin PASSED!!!! We are so proud of her! She actually tested with another pup from you, Penny. They came all the way from Albuquerque today just to test for their therapy dog license! Just wanted to let you know the good news about sweet Trin! (note from Desert Waves: Trin is one of our retired moms. We are so pleased that Trin will continue to bless people in her new job! Her fabulous daughter, Ginger, is carrying on for her here at Desert Waves.)

Sophie is a wonderful addition to our family. She has a sweet personality, she's smart, loves to play, but she's really good at relaxing too. She's friendly with people of all ages and likes meeting other dogs. She's beautiful, and her grandma (my mother-in-law) says she has "million dollar hair." We've had four other breeds of dogs. Sophie's been with us for five months and we can already say the Australian labradoodle is our favorite breed!

Update on K9 Penny! She is loving her job. She has recently passed the test for the AKC Good Citizen Certification. She is very proud. She loves visiting schools and has helped detectives in interviews with great success. She is so well behaved and is enjoying growing up with her community and fellow deputies! This is one of Leader's daughters who is now 2 and a half. The best dog in the whole wide world. Winnie is my everything. Seriously. She's amazing. I am so grateful every single day. Winnie learned how to smile. It is the craziest thing and we don't know how. She loves the groomer and walks in and smiles at her. And there is a couple at our breakfast place that Winnie smiles at every weekend. She's a legend.

Both doing great. Vet wellness check went perfect. We love them.They love their science diet food with he NUVET powder they lick their bowls clean. BM’s are solid and consistent 20-30 min. after eating. sleeping through the night since night one...When lights go out they crash & don’t wake up during the night, except to tinkle or poop in the litter box. They are very smart. They love their mommy scent blankies. (Note: The red one, Lucy, is out of Ginger & Leader. The caramel cream, Charlie, is from Quinelope & Justin)

I just wanted to let you know that we LOVE our puppy, Chill. He is the sweetest, cutest, calmest puppy I have ever seen. He is just adorable, and his temperament is amazing! Here are just a few amazing facts that have really surprised us…

- He has been sleeping through the night in his crate, every night since we got him. There was some whining and crying the second night, but he stopped after about half an hour and hasn’t done it since.

- Obviously, he isn’t fully housebroken yet, but he seems to know what we want him to do. He is regularly going to the bathroom in his litter box and outside. How easy is that?

- He doesn’t bark or whine very much, and he isn’t jumping on people or things very often. He is playful, but not crazy like most of the puppies I’ve seen.

- He isn’t skittish at all. We’ve vacuumed, used hair dryers, etc. and he just looks up at us to see if everything is okay and then goes about his business.

- He and our son are already best buddies!

At almost 2 years old, we are impressed with how Dusty handles himself in different situations. At Christmas we had our children and grandchildren here for most of 11 days, and this included 3 little kids under 6. We had turned our sun porch into a playroom for the little kids. I told Dusty one time that he could not go over the small gate, and although he could have easily done so, he never disobeyed. His calm behavior even when our usually quiet house had 14 folks was remarkable.

I tell you this because we are very impressed with the quality of the dogs you are breeding.

I wanted to let you know Maverick is doing wonderful. He's the sweetest pup with the kindest heart. We are so pleased with him and couldn't be happier with our choice. He's so smart and learns so fast. He already holds his pee all night and goes outside to use the bathroom. He starts puppy play school in the next few weeks, we know he's going to steal the show! Thank you so much for him and all the work you did with him. He's truly a blessing to our family. Every single day he brings laughter to our home and puts a smile on our face. I will defiantly be getting another in the future.

I just wanted to send you another update on Brewster... He is such a great dog and brings us so much joy! He's through his Obedience 1 and 2 and started therapy dog school today. I wanted to share a picture of Tasso. She's a year old now, weighs 30lbs, and seems to be outgrowing her affection with my drip irrigation system. She is smart, inquisitive, energetic, playful, and a good partner. Her tongue and tail go non-stop even when she sleeps. BTW, the puppy litter box was terrific; it really simplified potty training. She's a wonderful addition to my family!

I took Mateo to a new dog park here in Las Cruces that gets very little action. Suddenly we spotted another chocolate labradoodle. We met Esa and discovered they were both born in Corrales at Desert Waves Labradoodles... We both groom our dogs ourselves. We don’t want a foo foo poodle look! But mostly we talked about how much we love our Labradoodles and how much we respect your breeding program and you as a person. Thanks again for a lovely, smart, playful companion!
